It's bad enough the UAW made crappy cars for 30 years and flushed Congressmen Dingles pockets with money to keep mileage standards lower than the rest of the world making our auto industry uncompetitive during fuel shocks.
But now they want to keep their "Cadillac" plans while some Americans go without health insurance at all? It's bad enough many have gotten guarantees on their retirement accounts (pension plans) where many elderly have had their pensions wiped out with no government guarantees. Americans should be treated equally, even if they are not in the UAW. What is so virtuous about working for the UAW that these Americans get special exemptions while auto workers in other parts of the country do not?
Many of these "Entitled" auto workers have not worked since they have been 50 and get all these benefits so refuse to take another job out of "pride".
I can understand pride, but what about practical common sense and cutting the deficit and our huge spiraling debt? How much pride will we have as a nation when we keep borrowing beyond our means to ever repay?
It feels like both parties, Democrats and Republicans, are so focused on getting their pockets lined, they've forgotten the people they represent.
